Text Box: An outgrowth of the Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA), the Citizen’s On Patrol (COP) Program allows individuals who have completed the CPA Program to patrol neighborhoods and parks in marked, COP units as an extension of the eyes and ears of area patrol officers. COP units are equipped with a two way radio and are always in contact with Central Communications. The COP volunteers do not enforce the law, but do notify the dispatcher and patrol officers when violations of law are observed. Additional duties include traffic control at the request of officers and at special events. For more information on the COP Program contact Cpl.
